Vila Ana Margarida in Ericeira part II

VILA ANA MARGARIDA PART II

Gabrielle Colette's article about the luxurious resort Vila Ana Margarida in Ericeira.

The Vila Ana Margarida in Ericeira ♡

Because one article is not enough, the part II about the Vila Ana Margarida was highly needed. Maybe you guessed it with the previous pictures but the whole theme of the Vila Ana Margarida is boats and sailing. Many houses look like boats, inside ours we totally feel like navigating on the sea. The ceiling was adorned with a fishing net with a lot of shells inside of it and there was even a crab shell. The ceiling was absolutely out of the ordinary, I loved it!! And all the windows were shaped as portholes.

The Vila Ana Margarida is also surrounded by quotes. Everywhere in the location we could find some small signs with quotes to start the day on the right track.

In terms of the city itself, I haven’t spent much time in Ericeira city center, but it is really small and charming. You totally feel in Portugal, most houses are white, the street are very small and go in every directions and you can see people hanging their laundry above your heads. In the city center there is also the hotel version of the Vila Ana Margarida for people who prefer having an urban style vacation.

Even though I spent an amazing time in the Vila Ana Margarida, I found few drawbacks. First of all, the tap water wasn’t drinkable, which was a big problem because I only drink tap water, I never drink out of bottles. Plus, the water tasted salty, which is really surprising the first time you shower or brush your teeth. You (don’t really) get used to it. For example the first time I shower, I washed my face 3 times in a row thinking the sea salt was really sticky on my face, before I realize the water and not my face was salty. Second, I thought the sofa bed we slept on in the living room was king of uncomfortable. Then, it is really nice to have free peacocks in the accommodation, but they also scream at your door at 6 in the morning and do their own business all over, so you have to mind your steps. We also had plumbing problems, one with the flush and one with the sink. Though, the staff was really reactive. For example, the clumsy person I am broke 6 plates at once, and they were directly replaced without fees.

Nonetheless, these haven’t really impacted on my vacation in Vila Ana Margarida and I more than enjoyed it 🙂
