Here is it, I am leaving London tomorrow…
I cannot really tell how I feel right now, I mean I can. I am sad, I am really sad. I met so many great people here, so many people I have loved and enjoyed the company.
To go back to the start, I moved to London one year ago to study my master. I especially wanted to go to London because of the London College of Fashion. I’ve always wanted to study and work in the fashion industry and I only wanted to specialize in it after my Bachelor degree.
So two years ago I was looking at the masters of all the fashion schools, a lot were in fashion marketing, but I wasn’t really sure I wanted to do marketing again and of course fashion design was out of question as my background was in business. I thought about studying fashion styling though, but I then I realized that it was more worth to stay focus on the business side of fashion and it is easier to get into styling and learn the job through internships. So I eventually found out that the London College Fashion had a master “Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation” and I directly thought “this is exactly what I need”. It was different from fashion marketing, because honestly I easily get bored of it. The business side of fashion was still here but with a different perspective, which was definitely attracting to me. Plus, we never know, I think it is always a good thing to learn how to start your own business in fashion. I applied to this masters degree last summer and hopefully I was accepted!!
Now it is already the end of it…. Time has passed so fast but I’ve spent an amazing year. First of, the city is amazing, I actually prefer London over Paris I think. There is ALWAYS something to do in here, the city is beautiful and I love its vibes.
Then, in terms of education and work experience, I have actually learnt a lot. I ended up working as a stylist assistant as I wanted to, so I was pretty proud of me. I only did for about six months though because it was unpaid and at some point I needed $$$$$$ and I eventually found another job in a retail store.
Keep the best till last, I met AMAZING people. My lovely Lyvia was my first friend here. I literally met her the first day I arrive. We stayed over at the same hostel. Even if she left London a while ago, I can’t help thinking about her all the time. Then, of course my LCF friends, uni friends or fashion friends and especially Aria and Remi, with whom everything has started and ended. I know it may be hard to meet again after college ended, because we are all from different areas, but we had good times together. I also have to give a big shout-out to my roommate Alyna, who’s expecting a little baby boy by December. I wish I was there for this special moment, but you will be a great mum and Salman a great dad. I don’t forget Raphael, my first roommate in London (I lived in two different apartments), with whom I’ve always had nice talks at dinner times. The last but not the least, I am gonna miss Emma and Fanny the most. I’ve spent entire weekends with them shooting outfits across London, trying out new brunch places, talking about everything and anything. I probably wouldn’t have started my blog if we didn’t meet. Of course I wouldn’t have, without Emma’s pictures my blog wouldn’t look like this haha.
After all, I don’t really know what I am gonna do after. I am going back home the time to find a good job and who knows maybe I’ll come back to London, maybe I’ll stay Paris, maybe I’ll go to a new city. Who knows? 🙂
This is one of the last outfits I shot in London with my favorite blogger friends Emma and Fanny and Emma was the photographer of course. It is an “end of summer, start of autumn, you don’t really know if is it warm or cold outside” outfit. All the items I am wearing are very old, the skirt and jumper are from Zara, I bought them on sale a while ago. The over the knee boots are from Primark and I actually bought them in London with Lyvia a few days after I met her. Instead of linking the items (because they are all old), I did a selection of leo pieces, hope you like them 🙂
